In the first week of November, Realtors from all over the world gathered at the 2018 National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center where their focus was on shaping the future of the industry.

Dorothy B. “Dot” Rhone, broker/owner of Century 21 Covered Bridges Realty Inc. of Bloomsburg and District 7 Vice President of Pennsylvania Association of Realtors was excited to be one of more than 20,000 industry executives, Realtors, exhibitors and guests in attendance.  The typical conference attendee is a full-time Realtor with an average of 17 years of industry experience.

This national conference is the largest annual event for the most successful real estate professionals representing a variety of different office sizes and business franchises.  All 50 states and several U.S. territories were represented, as well as 1,500 international real estate professionals from more than 60 countries.

At the conference, agents were able to gain education and insights into residential and commercial real estate markets, home buying and selling trends, economic forecasts and public policy and regulatory concerns.  More than 100 outstanding educational sessions and leadership development opportunities were provided by some of the most recognized and respected speakers in the country on many real estate issues, where attendees learned about strategies and solutions to gain additional insights to help represent their clients.

Rhone, a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designee, was also involved in educational sessions and meetings provided by the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) at the conference, where she was honored to be installed as the Pennsylvania RRC president for 2019.

“After serving on the Pa. Association of Realtors Leadership Team for the past four years as a district vice president, I am excited to begin my two-year term at the Pa. president of the Residential Real Estate Council and work with the most successful agents throughout Pa.  The CRS designation is the Ph.D. of residential real estate, and I love encouraging and helping agents to reach that milestone in their career,” exclaimed Rhone.

Rhone also had the opportunity to explore the newest technology and innovations available in the industry from more than 400 exhibitors during the trade expo to find products and services that will help her company conduct its business by serving its clients more efficiently.  There was an unlimited amount of camaraderie and network building experiences, including a celebrity concert by Fall Out Boy. An added highlight for Rhone was being an invited guest at a private party with the stars of the HGTV series, “Home Town,” Erin and Ben Napier.

An admitted “real estate junkie,” Rhone continues to increase her real estate education to stay on the cutting edge of an ever-changing industry with significant technological advances for the benefit of her clients so they have a superior experience.

Rhone has been a Realtor since 1985 and, in addition to CRS, has earned nine professional designations and certifications including, Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI), Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), Internet Professional (e-PRO), Military Relocation Professional (MRP), Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR), Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), and At Home with Diversity (OA).

Rhone is a Bloomsburg native and the daughter of Alice and Charles Beltz and the late Charles Bauman.  She resides in Millertown with her husband, Rick. They have two children, Carey and Courtney, and five grandchildren.
